In 2023, George G. Tolbert II joined the ACLU-TN as our Director of Philanthropy. George attended Xavier University in New Orleans, La., majoring in Chemistry and Pharmacy, and then shortly after, he obtained additional pharmaceutical education at the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy. George also received his MBA at the University of Phoenix, with a concentration in Health Care Management. Despite having such a heavy academic background in the healthcare field, George's passion is in fundraising.
Through his company, POURS Health & Wellness, LLC, he is helping residents across the state achieve their desired lifestyle modification(s). He is the fundraising consultant for the African American Museum of the Performing Arts and the National Museum of African American Music. In addition, he is also working towards a doctoral degree in Public Health from Walden University.
