ACLU has traditionally been at the forefront of efforts to promote equality between the sexes. Long before today’s well known and well-established women's rights organizations were formed, ACLU was hard at work: since 1940 it has fought for equal pay for equal work and against prohibitions on the use of contraceptives or on the distribution of birth control information.
ACLU-TN's Women's Rights Resource Sheet outlines women's rights issues like sexual harassment, employment discrimination, the Fourteenth Amendment, abortion, contraception and pregnancy rights, domestic violence and more.
