ACLU-TN is composed of two organizational arms: the ACLU of Tennessee and the ACLU Foundation of Tennessee. The work of the ACLU of Tennessee is supported by membership dues, which are not tax-deductible. The ACLU of Tennessee is reponsible for ACLU-TN's legislative lobbying.

The ACLU Foundation of Tennessee is supported by tax-deductible contributions. The ACLU Foundation of Tennessee is responsible for ACLU-TN's litigation; for our programs and publications on civil liberties issues; and for our responses to the thousands of requests for assistance we receive each year.
